We’re excited to partner with Winlock Pediatrics to provide culturally adapted autism screenings, neurodevelopmental evaluations, and diagnoses. Dr. Violeta Gomez, MD, FAAP COE is an advocate for health equity in the Hispanic community. She has trained our promotora team to conduct autism screenings for children in our programs.
Children at high risk for autism are referred to Dr. Gomez for an in-home evaluation in Spanish, using a familiar environment to ensure families understand their child’s development. With long wait lists and language barriers making access to evaluations at hospitals and universities difficult, we’re proud to offer this vital service.
This service is available only to families enrolled in Ayllu Hogar, our home based visiting program for North King County families with children ages 18 months to 5 years.
