Community Health Worker training with Washington state
Manos Unidas promotoras comunitarias are the newest addition to our team. As women from the community we serve, they are mothers of children with disabilities or health concerns and have experienced many of the same barriers the Latino community faces in accessing quality education and healthcare in our community.
As community members hired to meet community needs, they were enrolled in Washington state's Community Health Worker training offered in Spanish in January, 2024. After 8 weeks of in person and virtual training, our promotoras learned about human-centered care, social determinants of health and the tough job they have ahead of them working with families from all walks of life. Our team proudly holds Washington state CHW certificates and are ready to serve the community!
