Best Starts for Kids Grant will Expand Reach to Hispanic Families in Washington state

This.Is.Huge.News!

Manos Unidas is a proud recipient of a Best Starts for Kids grant to provide Home-based services to Hispanic families with children with disabilities under the age of 6 years old in the North King county region of Washington state.

We have been awarded a three-year innovation stage grant of $570,000.00 to launch and run our first U.S. based program to serve families!

Check out the list of the Home-based Services awardees, find our name and read more about the awarded organizations and their programs here.

Manos Unidas Home Based Services program, "Ayllu," is a New Community-Designed Model that will offer relationship- based support to families and primary caregivers of Hispanic children ages 0-6 years of age with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities (e.g. autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, multiple disabilities) in North King County.

Ayllu will use a proprietary video curriculum (the Ayllu video library!) to educate and empower families and provide home-based support through a promotora (community outreach) model. Through this personalized learning process, we aim to equip families with the knowledge and skills to support their child at home,

school, and in the community.
